Our Generation's CSNY!?

Yes, I am going to go ahead and say it. We finally have a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young of our own.

The new supergroup that's been discussed for awhile now is now surfacing. The Monsters of Folk is the dusty-rock-folksy foursome consisting of multi-instrumentalist and Bright Eye Mike Mogis, M. Ward, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, and Conor-effing-Oberst. Oh, and for some reason, Jim James has adopted the moniker Yim Yames. What ev.

You may have heard that they will be releasing their self-titled album on September 22, and now you can hear some of the tunes on their MySpace! If you really like 'em, you can buy "Dear God" and "The Sandman, The Breakman and Me" on iTunes.

"Dear God" sounds more like MMJ's Evil Urges experimental side, whereas "Sandman" could have been on Hold Time. But check them out none the less, because the quartet has also just announced tour dates, and they didn't snub out 'ol Beantown...plan on roaching a spliff or two at the Orpheum on November 3rd!
